North Yorkshire Moors
The hills around Roseberry Topping, not far from Great Ayton in North Yorkshire, provide great walking and lots of photographic opportunities any time of the year. Although Roseberry topping is only about 320 m above sea level, it regularly gets a covering of snow in the winter months.
The North York Moors National Park covering 533 square miles has the largest area of moor-land in Europe and in August when the heather comes into bloom it turns into a carpet of purple.
